Semester 1 Report Cards were issued via email on Thursday the 26th of June. The Department of Education is experiencing a statewide issue with One School reporting for parents who have Gmail email accounts. This means some families will not have received their child's report card. We have printed these report cards today and sent them home with students. If your child was absent today, the report card will be sent in the mail.
Report cards provide feedback to parents/carers about student learning in all curriculum areas. Teachers report to parents on student learning and achievement against the relevant achievement standards using the appropriate reporting scale. Information is also provided on student effort and behaviour throughout the semester. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s report card, please don’t hesitate to make an appointment with their class teacher. Parent/Teacher interviews will be offered again towards the end of Term 3. We use our assessment and reporting data to support continuous improvement. This data will inform our teaching and learning sequence.
Academic Excellence Parade – Semester 1 2025
At the end of each semester, we recognise and celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of Landsborough students during a special Academic Excellence Ceremony. As our end of term schedule was very full, we will be holding this special ceremony early in Term 3, on Wednesday the 23rd of July at 8:45 am. We will also acknowledge our Semester 2 Class Captains at this ceremony. This will be held in place of our Week 2 School Parade. Parents and community are invited to come along and support the achievements of our students.
Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to all students who competed at the Landsborough SS Athletics Carnival Monday on our oval and on Thursday at Skippy Park. Congratulations to Petrie for winning the House Champion Shield. It was terrific to see so many parents, caregivers and supporters in attendance. The positive way you supported not just your children, but all of our children created a terrific atmosphere for our students. Thank you to Mr Spies for organising this fantastic event and to all our staff for their hard work throughout the day. A big thank you to our P&C for providing the buses to and from Skippy Park. This helped to make the day run smoothly. Most importantly, our students were demonstrating our motto of, Your Future, Our Focus by encouraging their peers in such a collegial way.
Landsborough State School 2025 Annual Improvement Plan
We are six months into the enactment of our annual implementation plan for our school. Our priorities are:
Implement Version 9 AC in English and Mathematics, with a focus on implementing consistent instructional routines across the school.
Embed whole of school support systems and processes (including PBL, Reboot, Support Model) to ensure we meet the range of student needs, maximising learning time and engagement in all areas of schooling.
Over the last few weeks, Mrs Clark has been supporting our teachers in their planning sessions in preparation for our Term 3 units of work. These two priorities are key focuses during our planning meetings. Our staff continue to explore best practices in the teaching of the Australian Curriculum to effectively engage and support our students in their learning journey. This is an opportunity for us to celebrate the incredible work of Mrs Clark and her leadership of our teachers. Our teachers work diligently to design interesting and engaging units of work for our students to learn in authentic ways. We aim to create a stimulating learning environment that nurtures the growth and development of each student. Mrs Clark supports our teachers in the Pedagogy space and supports teachers to teach and differentiate so that every student's learning needs are met in ways appropriate to the principles: the curriculum, the learning; and the learner.
Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD).
Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability.
The NCCD takes place in August every year.
The information collected by the NCCD helps teachers, principals, education authorities and governments to better support students with disability at school.
Support Teachers have recently been participating in North Coast Regional moderation and last week an inaugural cluster moderation with local schools.
See below Head of Special Education Services section for further information.
Congratulations to Dusky Hill for placing first in the recent Maleny Apex Art Competition!
Dusky created a wonderful piece called ‘Mountain Scape” which will feature on the front cover of Maleny Apex’s next business directory!
Look out for next year’s competition for everyone’s chance to be involved.
Well done Dusky!
Parent Collection of Students
A reminder that when you are collecting your prep students that we are still learning right up to 2:30pm each day. Our young people can be easily distracted by outside noise and influences. We respectfully ask that you please come to the prep area no earlier than 2:25 to support us in teaching your children in the most supportive learning environment. We love having parent engagement in our learning community and thank you for supporting us with this.
2026 Enrolments
2026 enrolments are now open! Collect an enrolment pack from our administration office. If you have a child starting Prep next year, please take note of the dates below.
Principal Tours
Looking to enrol? Why not join a Principal Tour! These tours offer families the opportunity to view our school facilities, hear about the school’s approach to learning and ask any questions you may have. Upcoming tour dates will be advertised on our Landsborough SS Facebook page.
Happy Holidays
As we conclude the first semester of 2025, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff, students and community for their contributions to what has already been a remarkable year. Have a wonderful winter holiday and stay safe. Enjoy your time with your loved ones, family and friends.

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)
Every year, all schools in Australia participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD). The NCCD process requires schools to identify information already available in the school about supports provided to students with disability. These relate to legislative requirements under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005, in line with the NCCD guidelines (2019).
Information provided about students to the Australian Government for the NCCD includes:
year of schooling
category of disability: physical, cognitive, sensory or social/emotional
level of adjustment provided: support provided within quality differentiated teaching practice, supplementary, substantial or extensive.
This information assists schools to:
formally recognise the supports and adjustments provided to students with disability in schools
consider how they can strengthen the support of students with disability in schools
develop shared practices so that they can review their learning programs in order to improve educational outcomes for students with disability.
The NCCD provides state and federal governments with the information they need to plan more broadly for the support of students with disability.
The NCCD will have no direct impact on your child and your child will not be involved in any testing process. The school will provide data to the Australian Government in such a way that no individual student will be able to be identified – the privacy and confidentiality of all students is ensured. All information is protected by privacy laws that regulate the collection, storage and disclosure of personal information. To find out more about these matters, please refer to the Australian Government’s Privacy Policy (https://www.education.gov.au/privacy-policy).
Further information about the NCCD can be found on the NCCD Portal (https://www.nccd.edu.au) and attached Fact sheet for Parents and Carers.
If you have any questions about the NCCD, please contact your school / Pam McPherson Head of Special Education Services.

QParents
Throughout Semester 1 we have continued to use established processes (paper copies) to communicate information and seek consent for camps, excursions, incursions etc. with the aim of providing parents and carers with as much time as possible to sign up to QParents. We are in the process of fully transitioning to QParents which will mean that paper copies will no longer be provided. Please ensure that you have signed up to QParents so that you can access this important communication.
QParents is a secure, online portal that our school uses. QParents provides parents with quick, easy access to their student information including:
student and attendance details
report cards
invoices and payment history
consent forms for school activities such as excursions.
For further information, visit the QParents Website orcall 13 QGOV (13 74 68).
The P&C is made up of parents just like you! The primary goal of the P&C is to enhance the educational opportunities for the students at our school. But along with that, it is also a great platform to build lifelong friendships with other like-minded parents, enhance your skill set, become more informed on important school matters and policies, provide parent input and give back to our wonderful school community.
Being a P&C member does not mean that you must attend all meetings. Our meetings are where all decisions are made, therefore attendance is encouraged so you can have your say.
Our next meeting is Wednesday 30 July at 5:30pm in the Hive.
Landsborough State School uniforms are available to purchase from The School Locker Maroochydore. This store is open 7 days a week for convenient shopping. You can also make purchases online and have the items home delivered!
